Welcome — this might be a little eclectic

I’m starting this Substack as a place to share some of the things I’m working on, exploring and enjoying.

Much of it will be about my development projects: what I’m building, the ideas behind them, the problems I encounter and what I learn along the way. I’ll also occasionally write about new technologies that catch my attention and offer a few thoughts on where they may be taking us.

At the moment, I’m busy with a few projects that I’ll explore in separate posts.

One is Sopheons, a “bring your own memory to an LLM” application. Another is a paper-trading application that I use to test simple investment strategies. It isn’t intended to predict markets or provide financial advice—it’s simply a way for me to experiment with ideas and see what works.

I’ve also created Movie Studio, an application for making short films from sequences of images, much like the earliest animated films. It’s designed for children and amateurs who want to bring Lego, Playmobil or even their own drawings to life.

But it won’t be all code and technology. Food is another important part of my life, so from time to time there will be recipes, cooking experiments and dishes worth sharing.

The subjects may vary, but the thread connecting them is curiosity — the pleasure of making something, understanding it a little better and sharing the result.
